Brightly-Colored Camera Avatars For Flickr

May 27, 2013 8:57 AM Posted by Unknown , ,
Yahoo!Flickr, which recently revamped its look, has hired an award-winning Greece-based designer, Charis Tsevis to create a whole new set of avatars for this photo-sharing site.

The vibrantly-colored geometric illustrations of cameras is reflective of the photography-centric community which Flickr carries. These avatar designs are Influenced by Furutist ‘Aeropittura’, later movements of M.A.C. (Movimento Arte Concreta) and other mid-century movements—the illustrations are what Tsevis calls “Neo-Furutism” or “Neo-Cubism”.

If you look close enough, the avatar represents different types of camera, such as retro camera, twin-lens reflex camera, the classic Olympus, smartphone camera, polaroid, Cannon, Nikon, Fujifilm signature camera body a you name it.

How do you like Flickr's facelift so far? :)
